Kaadu Ulsavam is a structured, two-day immersive program designed to showcase the authentic culture and lifestyle of Kerala’s indigenous tribal communities within a protected forest environment. The initiative is conducted with the support and guidance of the Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC), ensuring responsible tourism practices and ecological sustainability.
This program goes beyond a conventional camping experience. It offers participants a meaningful cultural engagement that includes a guided visit to a tribal settlement, interactive sessions with tribal elders, traditional storytelling, and live performances of indigenous music and dance around a campfire. These experiences are curated to promote cultural awareness, respect for traditional knowledge systems, and community empowerment.
In addition to the cultural components, Kaadu Ulsavam includes guided forest treks through rare ecosystems such as Myristica swamp forests, visits to Vaidoorya Kunnu and other natural landmarks, birdwatching opportunities, and eco-friendly forest accommodation.
The program is designed to integrate cultural preservation, environmental responsibility, and experiential learning — offering guests a safe, educational, and enriching forest-based experience while supporting local tribal communities.
