⁠Agasthyarkoodam

Agasthyarkoodam, one of the longest & Thrilling trek in south India . Known for its rich biodiversity and rare medicinal plants. The trek passes through dense evergreen forests, streams, and scenic mountain trails. At the summit, you can witness breathtaking panoramic views and the sacred statue of Sage Agastya making it a perfect mix of adventure and spirituality.

 Day 01: Trivandrum → Bonacaud → Athirumala Base Camp

  1. 4:00: AM: Pickup from Trivandrum Railway Station.
  2. 07:00 AM: Breakfast
  3. 07:15 AM: Packed Lunch Distribution
  4. 07:30 AM: Reporting at Bonacaud Forest Office.
  5. 08: 00 AM: Entry pass verification & briefing by SFO (Section Forest Officer) Allocating a Official Forest Guide
  6. 9:00 AM: Trek begins from Bonacaud towards Athirumala Basecamp (Approx. 18 km trek)
  7. 01:00 pm: peaceful Lunch in the lap of the wild
  8. 03:30 PM: Arrival at Base Camp & Accommodation in Common Rooms (Separate for Male & Female)
  9. 04:00 PM: Evening Tea.
  10. 07:30 PM: Dinner and overnight stay at the base camp.

 Day 02: Athirumala → Agasthyarkoodam Summit → Athirumala

  1. 06:00 AM: Early Morning Wakeup
  2. 07:00 AM: Breakfast.
  3. 07:30 AM: Trek to Agasthyarkoodam Peak  (12 km up & down)
  4. 02:30 PM: Return to Athirumala Base Camp and Lunch.
  5. 04:00 PM: Evening Tea
  6. 04:30 PM: Explore nearby trails & relax
  7. 07:30 PM: Dinner
  8. 08:00 PM: Night Stay

Day 03: Athirumala → Bonacaud → Trivandrum

  1. 06:00 AM: Wakeup
  2. 07:00 AM: Breakfast.
  3. 07:30 AM: . Pack-up & Start Descending from Base Camp
  4. 02:30 PM: Reach Bonacaud  Forest office(Trek ends).
  5. 03:00 PM: Lunch
  6. 03:30 PM: Back to Trivandrum Railway Station.

🔴 What to Bring

1. Original ID cards must be carried.
2. ⁠Mandatory to carry Medical fitness certificate(from an MBBS doctor or higher) with sign and seal, issued within one week of the trek  (format will be provided).
3. Raincoat: Be prepared for possible rain.
4.    Trekking Essentials: Good quality trekking shoes and a trekking pole.
5.    Bedsheet: Mandatory to carry.
6.    Health Essentials: Personal medicines and care items, if required.
7. Extra Footwear: Carry an additional pair of chappals.
8.    Hydration & Snacks: Carry sufficient water and snacks. Dispose of plastics responsibly.
9.    Electronics: Power bank for charging devices and a torch for visibility.


🔴 Important Notes & Conditions

1.    Vegetarian food will be provided at Athirumala Base Camp.
2.    Carry suitable trekking shoes and minimal luggage. Poojas and intoxicants are strictly prohibited.
3.    Littering is strictly prohibited. Plastics and non-biodegradable materials are not allowed.
4.    Exercise caution while crossing rivers/streams. The department is not liable for accidents or injuries.
5.    Use only designated trekking paths. Trespassing or harming wildlife/plants is punishable by law.
6.    Follow all Do’s and Don’ts. Violations attract penalties as per the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 and Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
7.    Duration: 3 days. Follow the instructions of guides and forest officials at all times.
8.    No refund will be provided if the trek is not completed due to weather or natural causes.
9.    The Wildlife Warden reserves the right to defer, cancel, or modify conditions without prior notice.
10.    Trekking is permitted only if climatic conditions are favorable.
11.    Music is strictly prohibited during trekking.
12.    Each group will be accompanied by trained guides. Participants must follow their directions.
